Destination #2 – Montreal

Montreal is an awesome city. Night was already there when we arrived: the high buildings were illuminated, the city was sparkling. This first impression of Montreal was kind of surreal. After a first night out, I fell asleep in a (very comfy) bed of our 31st floor apartment with an incredible view. When I woke up the next morning, the tops of the buildings were in the clouds, and a foggy atmosphere enveloped the city. Nonetheless, we put our coats on, stopped by Tim Horton’s for a cup of coffee and started our day. We walked around the streets, went through the underground malls, saw the Place des Arts (picture 3), went to the Old Port – under a lovely rain, walked and ate in China Town, etc. The following day, we went to the Mont Royal Park, and enjoyed the panorama on the cityscape.

Montreal can be surprising with unexpected moments and images sometimes: you walk through the streets, between high rises and, all of the sudden, you wonder you’ve been teleported in Paris ! (picture 2) You walk through modern and newly built streets and suddenly see in the background some enormous, imposing and rusted deserted buildings of the Old Port. All theses little things makes the city particularly interesting because of the variety of scenery it offers…

Now I wonder what my next adventure will be, somewhere in North America.. I guess I’ll just see where my feet will lead me !

« all the people we have met and all the people we have yet to meet, are meant to exist so we can find them. so with both could exchange a set of directions, which will guide us to the next place we are meant to go.

and as we go, we must always believe that maybe this could be our last stop. that maybe the next person we meet will not have a set of directions, that maybe they will have more, and that maybe they will offer us something beautiful enough to inspire us to stay. »
